Sales Representative - PTA & Midrand (On-Trade)
About the role
A well-established distributor of premium alcohol brands is looking for a driven and people-focused Sales Representative to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes pride in a professional approach, and brings creativity and initiative into how they build relationships and grow brands.
The Sales Representative will be responsible for successfully executing the company’s sales strategy across Pretoria and surrounding areas, as well as Midrand’s main market, working closely with customers and internal teams to drive visibility, distribution, and sales performance.
Key responsibilities
Brand Availability and Sales Volumes:
- Strategically attain channel-specific availability targets.
- Ensure precise execution of brand availability across channels.
- Elevate brand equity as a primary catalyst for all initiatives and engagements.
- Innovate to amplify sales volume.
- Channelize brand prioritization to maximize volume.
Promotions and Brand Visibility:
- Execute promotions in alignment with brand equity standards.
- Channelize promotions for optimal brand-channel synergy.
- Implement the National Promotions Strategy meticulously.
- Monitor and optimize promotion ROI.
- Enhance brand visibility via imagery, displays, uniforms, menus, and merchandising.
Operational Excellence:
- Methodically administer and update call cycles.
- Achieve 100% adherence to the call cycle.
- Ensure accurate coding of all outlets.
- Fulfil all requirements during representative calls.
- Timely completion of administrative and reporting tasks.
Consumer Interaction:
- Responsibly engage with consumers across all touchpoints.
- Gather consumer data aligned with target demographics.
- Relay consumer insights and expectations effectively.
Financial Asset Management:
- Adhere to quantity and cycle discount parameters.
- Prompt completion and submission of PODs and credit notes.
- Maintain and upkeep company vehicles.
- Manage vehicle mileage within budgetary limits.
- Responsible handling of promotional stock.
Experience and qualifications
- 3 Year Tertiary Education (Beneficial)
- 2-3-Years Relevant experience - NB experience within FMCG / Food & Beverage
- Product, service knowledge and understanding of category management
- Knowledge of marketing and accounting principles
- Computer literate
- Ability to conceptualise and negotiate
- Customer orientation
- Sound interpersonal skills and creativity (big picture thinking)
Remuneration
Approx. R30,000 per month including benefits.
Quarterly Incentives of around R10,000.
